Dynamic Update in infopath from Sharepoint List

Step 1) Create a SP list with two columns Country and State.

Step 2) Now in infopath create 2 fields Country and State as dropdown fields.
Step 3) Create a data connection to receive from SP list which we created in step 1. Add the 2 fields from list in data connection wizard.


Step 4) Select the Country dropdown box in infopath form and point the Country data to the list using the data source which we created in step 3. Most important select the Check box “Show only entries with unique display names”

Step 5) Select the State dropdown box in infopath form and point the state data to the list using the data source which we created in step 3 and filter this data to the Country from list to the Country which we created in infopath form




Step 6) Cascading update in infopath from SP list

CONVERSION FROM INFO PATH 2007 TO INFO PATH 2010 BROWSER ENABLED FORM

Follow these 10 steps in converting 2007 InfoPath form to 2010 browser enabled form.


1. Open InfoPath Form:
Open the 2007 InfoPath template (XSN file)




2. Go to Form Options:
Go to Form options. File -> Info -> Form Options



3. Change Compatibility
Click Compatibility tab, in that change the Form type from InfoPath 2007 Filler Form to Web Browser Form and click OK



4. Data Connections

In top Ribbon bar Click Data and Click on Data Connections








5. Convert Data Connections to 2010 Format

To solve the error message:


“This SharePoint library or list data connection was created using an older format. Convert it to the InfoPath 2010 format before saving the form template.”


Select every data connection and click Convert to Current Version.






6. Publish Form

Click File -> Publish -> SharePoint Server

INFOPATH FORM HIDE/DISABLE FIELDS BASED ON SHAREPOINT GROUP MEMBERSHIP

Hi guys in this tutorial you will get to know how to identify whether a user is part of a Share point group in InfoPath form.

NOTE:
This will work only for WINDOWS AUTHENTICATED SP sites
In this example we will use the logged in persons user name is in IT SP group. If he is in the IT SP group we will enable Submit Button and If he is not in the IT SP group we will enable Submit to IT button.
STEP 1:
Go to the SP site. Go to People and groups and create a group IT. And Add users to the group.





Added test user 1 in the SP group.


STEP 2:
Open the InfoPath 2010.

Created 3 fields Name, Emp ID, Department and 2 Buttons Submit to IT and Submit


STEP 3:
Go to the Data tab and select Data Connections





Add a Data Connection
